The governor looks like an idiot anyway.  Probably wanted the exposure.

Celina, I handled advertisement for Li Ning and he made a lot more than the incentive he got in product/services endorsements from Ogilvy & Mathers, Saatchi. These eventually were taxable so the government was able to claw more than the rewards they gave....as for Li Na...for 2012 the following are personal tax rate in China ...about 45% rate every year for her income bracket which is above 85,000 RMB yearly... so her take home from million Australia Dollars Plus this 800,000 RMB= impute 45% of the total sum just these 2 items ..then the Chinese govt would have made more than its 800K? Plus free advertisement for China/

Do you know what kind of sacrifice Li Na and all those altheles made just to be in the competition. There maybe more than 100 tennis players from China who invested their time and money and yet did not even made it to the tournament. By the way, Olympic gold medalist from China team gets at least 1 Milliion RMB from their private sponsors let alone their municipal govt etc..

This is common for atheletes...Take David Beckham who went to China. I learned he made more than GBP 5 Million just for products endorsement from U.K. companies whil einChina Well part of this income tax revenue would have to be paid to China as the revenue were derived from his "work" in China. For his bracket he would have to pay U.K . almost 65%..that is why he decided to donate a large part for developing soccer coaches in China.

To all those ignoramus and naysayers. welcome to the real world. You know who you are.
