Thanks, I enjoyed your post.  I love to learn meanings behind Chinese traditions.  Now I will study each on the particular day and ask all my Chinese friends why that day is "important".  As usual, I'm sure most won't have any idea.  I love it when my Chinese friends tell me how embarrassed they are that 'laowai' taught them something about Chinese traditions.  It's great fun.  We both learn.
