Wal-Mart recalls card table, chair sets after finger amputations
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is recalling about 73,400 Mainstays five-piece card table and chair sets because the chairs can unexpectedly collapse, posing a fall hazard or potential finger injury.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday that Wal-Mart has received 10 reports of injuries, including one finger amputation, three fingertip amputations, sprained or fractured fingers and one report of a sore back.
The recall includes the Mainstays card table sets with a black padded metal folding table and four black padded metal folding chairs. The company that made the padding, is printed on a white label on the bottom of the chairs.

Made by:
Dongguan Shin Din Metal & Plastic Products Co. Ltd.
DAPU Industrial Area
Qing Xi Town, Dong Quan City
Quangdong Province, China

Heshan Camis Industrial Co. Ltd.
Guangdong, China
made the actual table and chairs.

The sets were sold at Wal-Mart stores across the U.S. and on its website from May 2013 through November 2013 for about $50. They were also sold at Kmart, Target, Amazon and other stores online.

Cheap, that's why {:soso_e180:}

So here's the bottom line:
Those who were injured will sue Wal-Mart, Kmart, Target, etc. for millions of dollars.{:soso_e118:}
They may also be fined by the US Product Safety Commission. {:soso_e109:}
The Chinese company gets away scott-free (as usual). {:soso_e111:}
Another good reason to stop importing {:soso_e174:} from China.

You could suggest LEGISLATION for SAFETY CONSULTANT inspection service.
Hong Kong, Singapore and soon Kuala Lumpur will be a GLOBAL HUB for the INTERNATIONAL PROCUREMENT OPERATIONS offices.

All kind of BUYING SERVICES is needed.

Now that PM CAMERON of UK already HINTING SO STRONGLY, that automobile industry in the BRITISH CLUB can revive with 3IR and international procurement, we'll soon need more such professionals in HONG KONG, KUALA LUMPUR and SINGAPORE.

Probably expecting JAQUAR LAND ROVER executive head hunting for LOCAL REPRESENTATIVES and familiarizing them with sourcing services people.

Cheerios!

Last year I got a pile of 2.1mm dc power socket connectors for CCTV.
Unbeknowns to me, a small spring had been inserted into the socket to ensure pressure and a good electrical contact between outer wall of socket and plug and inner pin of socket and plug.

Unfortunately, this spring caused a short circuit when there was no plug inserted.
I think an assumption had been made about plugs always being on the power supply side and sockets always being on the appliance.

If only life was so simple.

Anyway as soon as I turned the power on. BANG.

I spent the next few hours pulling the springs out with dentists tools.

The day I stop learning will be the day I die. Maybe.
