Teach less and let the kids spend time to discover more.

A bit of mess in the teaching is fine. Let them work together and discover information about a topic and present it in class. Computers with internet will do wonders for studies for such group work.

Getting the kids to learn how to learn is more important than how much knowledge they can memorise in class from the teacher.
