you're ABSOLUTELY hit it on the nail...and tis is EXACTLY what i'm afraid & dont have the knowledg ...

Any foodstuff going into China has to be lab tested first at large expense and a long wait, all the time you are paying for storage in customs.

I was offered the opportunity to import dried fruits from Chile in the past, found out it was not worth the hassle.

Good luck to you if you give it a try, I like people who think out of the box

In what way?

One prevalent opinion is that now China enjoys more rich people than other east Asain nations and in the mainland the rich ones have little channel to invest their money, if there is no such strict limitations on property buying in Beijing and Shanghai, what would the property price be like?

Property prices can only rise so far on a bubble economy, at some stage the bubble has to burst.

I would love to know where they get their data, I live in Shanghai and those prices are well out.

Agree, from what I see they pay 5 RMB for a can of soft drink, 30 RMB for a dozen eggs, 60 RMB for a beer, 18 RMB for bananas, 24 RMB for Fresh Milk and 36 RMB for bread.

They are getting ripped off big time !

From my latest grocery market :

A bottle of 50cl Coca Cola : 2.8 RMB
A dozen eggs : 7.8 RMB
A beer at a bar (50cl) : 40 RMB (and it was a fancy bar)
Haven't bought bananas recently
1l of Fresh milk : 18 RMB and it is imported milk
I do my own bread so I don't know the price

All this from the Lianhua outside my compound in Shanghai.
