For too long the brits have been arrogantly taught that they don't/should not have to learn another language. They all go abroad expecting other people to speak their language. It always offends a lot of people, so its a good idea to try and make an effortt. I would rather have the kids learning chinese than arabic....
if you want something in life get off your backside, and do it yourself!! don't rely on others to do it for you
