Parents are always abessed with crazes. Just as a Chinese saying goes, parents always 'blame iron for not being steel', which drvies them to try to foster their kids into a perfect person.

Can they make it?

Don't you agree in saying that China has more than enough academics and not enough hands-on people ...

We call them occupational schools. In every Chinese parent's eyes, their kids are going to grow into a president, a scientist, a professor, a high-ranking official, but never a plumber, a carpenter or the likes.

The correct name is vocational school, and China should have ten times as many of those than it do ...

Thanks for your correction.

We need to make sure ALL children learn essential financial skills and wisdom no matter what career or profession they pursue. In the future, almost everyone will have to deal with banks, loans, savings, investments - shares, property etc and funds saved for retirement. It is the ignorance of a lot of people that has got many in western countries into trouble - they were all too busy in their own professions and being consumers to notice what was happening to their life savings and assets like homes and shares while the crooked 'financial wizards' were playing around with other people's money. The level of personal debt and bankruptcy in unregulated capitalist economies is still to be fully revealed. Developing countries like China and India can avoid this by educating their children from the early years. This is a good idea and program. It will also be good regulate the 'financial markets' to simplify things, making things easier to understand.
