On 18th September 2012, anti Japanese demonstration broke out in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Changsha, Qingdao, Hangzhou, Xi'an, Yunnan Dali and other cities. In Dongguan, Changsha and Qingdao, there were serious confrontation between the police and the public, arson and other incidents. NHK said that anti Japanese demonstrations was held in at least 52 cities. Japan's Kyodo News Agency estimates that more than 70000 people took part in the demonstration, which is the largest anti Japanese protests among Chinese folk after normalization of Sino-Japanese diplomatic relations since 1972. Moreover, NHK said last year anti Japanese demonstrations broke out in more than 100 cities a few days before 18th September.
