HIGHEST I'VE BEEN, OTHER THAN A MOUNTAIN TOP, IS THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING... NICE VIEW ON A CLEAR ...

From my apartment I can see the 4 highest buildings in Shanghai but their tops are often hidden by cloud, you pay more for a top floor and then there is no view.

to much pollution in the air to get a view???
I'm not sure if I would want to live on the top floor of anything over apartment size buildings, lets say 25-30 stories. I think ground floors are fine, for getting in and out fast. How high are the average new apartment buildings where you are, and what would be the price outside the city, lets say 30 km? Around Boston, for something nice it's $500K average. I'm 80km from Boston, and the pricing is much lower.  $250-350 K. I can still find a nice home for $180k if I look around...House lots in the city are $50- 100k for 1/8 acre, outside the city it's $120-150k for 2 acre minimum for a rural lot.

That´s not a proper way to show the progress of a country.
Denial, according the psychoanalysts, is one of the most primary mechanisms of defense. It consists in the attitude of denying or minimizing obvious facts of reality with which the individual can´t  cope or whose irresponsibility is unable to meet.

And I agree.

Not so much pollution just clouds.

In China property is usually priced per square meter which is deceiving as it includes a portion of the communal areas so an apartment of 150 sq m in reality will be only around 115 sq m.

In my part of Shanghai the price is around 33,000 RMB per sq m, the city as a whole varies from 50,000 to 20,000 per sq m making a small apartment 1,000,000 to 2,500,000 RMB and a 3 bed from 3,000,000 to 7,500,000 RMB.
It is impossible to buy a building plot in Shanghai.
