If you know how to drive a car can do the same without ABS ..!  ABS can be very dangerous in certa ...

that's tru if you're not so familiar with ABS but still just pump your break a few times...the best thing to do is to practice your winter drivin in an emptied huge parking lot (like in the mall or university campus) ev'ry season
a man who uses his hands is a laborer. one who uses his hands and his mind is a craftsman. but he who uses his hands, his mind, and his heart, is an artist...

Well the snow is gone but for next year maybe:  I have driven in lots of snow and ice, Alaska, Iceland, Europe, US, and the biggest piece of advice I can give is ‘plan ahead’ (much like you should do in any kind of driving).  As one commenter said, gently pump your brakes to try to slow the car down.  The idea is to try and not break traction but of course that can be difficult on snow and ice.  Next, do not panic if the car starts to slide, a normal part of driving on snow and ice.  It was also suggested to practice in an open area if you can find one.  Also practice, get the feel of, the car sliding in the snow, learn how to control it.  A limited slip differential (both wheels have drive traction and not just one) helps a lot when trying to control the vehicle.
Watch some car/truck races on snow or even dirt and you can get some idea about it.  If I can be of anymore help just let me know.
