give us a link, please... it could be very interesting method :)

Let me know if your Chinese name worked out with her method, has any similarities to the meaning of your name in your native tongue or English. I will fall of my chair twice. :-)

Here is the thingy I made an image strip.
{:soso_e113:}

I saved it in my album, but all the other images that I have uploaded, and the other album have vanished, and all my avatar upload attempts have failed, with an I/O error during upload.

Hello White Bear, I put the Chinese characters into a language translator and it returned a sort of partial translation.

诗 宇 柒
Poetry yu qi

I know need to try and find what yu and qi mean in English, there may be several meanings.
I look further using a search engine to show chinese meanings of chinese word typed in English.
Sometimes it works. I found out a little while ago, a major search engine (should I mention its name?) has the ability to know a Chinese word spelt with English letters is still a Chinese word and offers English meanings if you look. Not every time though

So, looking for yu, I find, it can be a name used in a Girl or Boys name in China.

Yu also means Jade in Chinese Pinyin.

Now for qi.

An easy short search, qi is the same as chi, I am sure that you know what chi is.

Please remember people, I understand little of Chinese, but I am eager to learn, which is why I come here.

I what I have found is incorrect, please do make a correction or addition to what I have replied with.

Thanks to all.

Hi White Bear,

I put 诗 宇 柒 into a translator and was told a half English, half Chinese answer.

Poetry Yu Qi.

Well, there I think is the meaning of the fist character, Poetry.

I don't know how to pronounce it, though.

But now onto Yu and Qi.

I found meanings of Jade for Yu, which could be a boy or girls name usage.
Qi is the same as chi. like inner power chi.

You need to know the first word pronunciation still.

Well again the same site to the rescue.

Xie Yu Qi.

Rising tone on Xie, falling tone on Yu, rising tone on Qi.

I think I will use that service again.

I also had German and French, but none of my teachers forced us to adopt a name in those languages ...

Sure...but Boris Becker was a hot tennis player at that time...
