Yesterday I made my first attempt at cooking curry. It's delicious, though the pic not attractive or mouthwatering.

i like hot pot...but it's too expensive.

Hotpot is NOT expensive :) all depends what You want to put inside.

Also You don't have to buy "genuine hotpot".
Simple pot on electric cooker, or pot with thermostatic heater (50RMB) is OK (and You can use it for much more dishes - soups, rice, etc.)

Other equipment? set of spoons is 8RMB (I just bought it), and 2-3 sets per small pot is more then enough.

Base soup - can be made from instant.

Vegetables are quite cheap, also eggs.
You don't have to prepare a lot of meat - it saves the money. Instead - prepare a lot of different veggies :)
Hot pot is more about the fun, then "expensive pleasure for the elite"...
