Chinese people are not clever and intelligent enough to play any role in the world affairs. Better let the more smarter and super intelligent jews and white christians do all the role playing in global affairs.  They are doing a very good job and providing long term global peace.

Chinese are equally egoistic as Japanese, USA or any other nation... but China lacks military capacities to support their economic interests overseas, so it will be for long time mostly involved in Asian region.

Won't work greatlady. China will fail miserably if her goal is only developing itself. China must expand economic and military ties with regional powers, build relationships, even form alliances. The US is trying to take over the Middle East, what makes you think they'll stop after Iran? Who will be next?

- Continue to develop economy and military
- Leverage economy and build relationships around the World
- Build a regional power bloc that will maintain peace and stability in Asia for a century or more
(regional power bloc that includes all of East Asia and much of Central Asia)
- Contain US expansion and aggression

Which side will China support on the Korean Peninsula? It fought against the UN back in the 1950s

Well, South Korea is a essentially a US state, so I would say China has to deal very carefully with South Korea. North Korea acts as a buffer to US aggression.
