As a a famous Chinese film actress, Zhang Ziyi's first major role was in The Road Home.

She achieved fame in the West after leading roles in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Rush Hour 2, and Memoirs of a Geisha. She has been nominated for three BAFTA Awards and a Golden Globe Award.

Maggie Cheung is a Hong Kong actress. Raised in England and Hong Kong, she has over 70 films to her credit since starting her career in 1983. Some of her most commercially successful work was in the action genre.

As Emily Wang in Clean, her last starring role to date, she became the first Asian actress to win a prize at the Cannes Film Festival.

Cheung's native language is Cantonese, but she is multilingual, having learned to speak English, Mandarin and French.

Zhou Xun is a brilliant Chinese actress. Recently, she played a role in Hollywood film Cloud Atlas with Tom Hanks.

Since 2011, Zhou was formally announced as a new ambassador for Chanel. Chanel chief designer Karl Lagerfield noted Zhou Xun for her strong fashion sense, describing the actress as "a synthesis of young Coco Chanel and Ballet Troupe Zizi Jeanmaire."

She also graced the cover of French Vogue, British Tank, French Liberation, British Elle, etc.

She was called by French Vogue as "Chinese Kate Moss".

Yao Chen  is an award-winning Chinese actress and the person on Sina Weibo with the largest number of "fans" (analogous to "followers" on Twitter), with over 21 million.

She is the person on the cover of British magazine-GLASS.

In 2011 Yao Chen visited Mae La refugee camp in northern Thailand as UNHCR’s Honorary Patron for China. Jay Chou is a Taiwanese musician, singer-songwriter, music and film producer, actor and director.

Chou combines Chinese and Western music styles to produce songs that fuse R&B, rock and pop genres. He composes all his own songs, as well as songs for other singers.

His music has gained recognition throughout Asia, most notably in regions such as Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and in overseas Asian communities. He has sold more than 28 million albums worldwide up to 2010.

His career extends into directing and running his own record company JVR Music.

He was the person on the cover of TIME Asia. He is called as the “the King of pop music in Asia” by TIME.

Li Yuchun is a Chinese pop singer and actress who achieved instant fame when she won the nationwide singing contest Super Girl in 2005.
