John Pilger, one of my favourite journalists, its a shame that the U.S censors him.

That documentary was brilliant, they could make a movie out of this man's life

All right Mr Hermit,

Since the birth of the net , I don't think any one watches mainstream media as much

these days ,most of the genuine news is available freely and then we can form our own

opinion.

I personally think that the like's of the BBC, CNN and fox are on their last legs when it comes

journalism, its sad really because they all use to have integrity but a good reporter is hard to find these days.

btw got your message on the other thread re. senny, I think some of his cronies started on it so I left.

       Thanks buddy

I agree with your view regarding the news, but a caveat is in order.....There is also a lot of misinformation out there.

The 20th century has brought us the monopolies we all feared, Politics, Media, and Banking. Beneath the veneer of differing interests and competition lie the same aims and policies.

Western "democracy" will at best allow one a choice of master. The Obama supporters were euphoric after the last election because their man was in the white house. The policies remained the same and the rich got richer and the poor poorer.

To call this democracy is an affront to ones intelligence. The media and politicians are adept at giving people the illusion of choice, but nothing changes through the ballot box.

Well all what you said is true, the majority of the public knows it to be so,  but with disinformation and

the financially backed leaders in nations that runs under the label of democracy.

The people in society are too busy doing normal every day chores ,just to survive they do not have the

time or energy to look beyond the mainstream media on tv,

we both know leaders of governments ,the media and security are all owned by the big corporations,

and when there is the slightest bit of evidence of this coming out,  they get shouted down conspiracy

theorist and nut jobs and blatantly  dismissed.

I personally don't think any thing will change ,unless this financial crisis gets a lot more worse

before they start implementing a different form of democracy or governments,

going back to this crisis, it all started way back in the early 80s,under thatcher in uk, and reagan in us.

both of these clowns are the ones who started it all in my opinion, they deregulated the banks,

privatised every thing under the sun, and broke the backs of the trade unions who where at that time

the only support the poor had.

During the early 70s , the uk was losing the manufacturing industries, basically the country wasn't

making any thing and losing jobs left right and centre , so they had to create something from nothing,

hence the hugely inflated property market.

Then the system would go mini bust every 5 to 7 yrs ,but could not cover the real scale of the problem

until 2008 when the traders or gamblers in the markets took bigger bets and lost.

Sadly this thing has been brewing for 3 decades and the middle class and the poor are the ones paying

the price.

What ever the label of governments use's is not important, what is though is if it is a progressive and

caring form of government that cares for the well being of society as a whole.

Thanks for your input.

regards Honkam
