It's not too late to save the old architecture. As memekenan said, many smaller towns can preserve
some neighborhoods. China has a lot of heritage to save and fortunately the government can step
in and keep developers from tearing it all down.
If capitalism promotes innovation and creativity then why aren't scientists and artists the richest people in a capitalist nation?
