That is the cycle of filial piety in action I suppose  ..........

In the West there is a still a strong bond between offspring and parents, but many offspring are so busy with their own kids and the bills that parents just get the odd visits ........

In addition, grandparents understand this but do not want to be 24/7 babysitters as they have looked forward to freedom when their kids grow up and have their own ........

Filial piety is in the blood of almost all Chinese people. I think it was all because of Confucius' saying:"Filial piety is the most important viture."    We have been told this sentence countless times since we were kids. Confucius also said:"Do not travel too far away while your parents are still alive." But today many young people have to leave home and work in other cities, but they would at least try to go home and be with their parents during the Spring Festival every year.

My cat is a boy but has a girl's name (given by his former owner for unknown reason).  Sorry I will not tell you because it will make him embarrassed.
