China wants to enact "Food Safety Standards" by 2015.

The Good.....
Better quality foods

The Bad.....
This can be a way for big food business to dominate the food industry in China, by making standards only obtainable by them and them alone.
This is how it was done in the West.
China needs to be sure THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN!!!!!!!!

So what happens until 2015?  Do the people here in China have to continue to worry about unsafe food?

There are already standards in place and the food in China is very good.
Why is there a need for more?
Are small food businesses going to have to carry health permits, licences and a huge list of permissions to make and sell food?

In America, 100's of people die each year from salmonella (even with the "high" standards).

I do not agree.  Any business, big or small should meet safety standards.  And you know very well there are thousands of food poisonings in China every year.

"thousands"?
I'm not sure of the stats.
Can you give me any?

Does the street vendor selling food need health permits?
The fruit and vegetable trucks need "clearance"?
If someone gets sick from the food they sell, that vendor goes out of business very soon.
"rule of thumb"
