It's because of corruption, not because of monopoly by state.

hahahahahaa..
From the perspective of corruption, China was on the fast degradation from the late 1990s. Our party (government) leaders with many economic policy advisors from U.S.A only use the unjustice resulted from corruption to privatizated state-owned assets and companies.

Along the ongoing huge privatization from the late 1990s, More billionaire and millionaire would come one night later. Mainland China is on the track forward the paradise of speculators.

++++++++++++++++
One of Solutions to curb corruption:
Please disclose the assets and income of high-level party (government) leaders. Oh, leaders in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau have already openned their assets and income to the public.

Why is there corruption in the first place? Would demanding high-level officials disclose their assets address the root problem?

The lack of clear transparency and accountability is the problem in most governments, and China is ...

What did our party (government) do from the late 1990s?
The party (government) launched state-owned assets privatization reform, state-owned companies prviatization reform, housing privatization reform, health care privatization reform, etc.

Now, The family members of those corrupted (government) leaders, a limited few of people who had inside relationship, a few of speculators turned into millionaire and billionaire after one night.  Millionaire shows off their wealth from time to time. "Patient killing doctors" happens from time to time. A few of Property owners burnt themselves and fight with local Party (government) officials and local police. Ordinary Chinese complains the soaring high housing price and high retirement pension of party (government) leaders all the time. Turbulent happens too. Now, the Party (government) have to invest huge amount resources and energy into maintaining so-called socail stability.

Would the Party (government) have enough resources and energy into maintainning so-called social stability after the privatization of the remaining state-owned banks, state-owned ..., ....?

For example:

The monthly salary of #1 party secretary of Shanghai was about 11,000 Yuan, which less than mine, last year. So almost all of Party (government) leaders in mainland China was less than 11,000 Yuan.

However, we know that a large amount of Party leaders sent their children to study in U.S.A, in Canada, in Europe, in .... How can they have enough money?

Now, you know the reason that many ordinary Chinese hate the Party (government) leaders - Serious Rampant Corruption.

You still didn't get the point. Why is there corruption in the first place?

Kbay has explained quite clearly.

And don't blame the privatization. Will corruption simply disappear if there was never such a reform?
