Oh pray tell us all.

Countless atrocities and no accountability.

Filter....

But seriously, you are really showing your ignorance now.  This is not 1970.

I read in our papers, I see the trials of these soldiers getting reported in the news.

If you see no accountability - than you're not paying attention.

Ever hear of ft. leavenworth prison?

What do you mean there is no accountability?

Do you how many soldiers have been tried and sentenc ...

In most cases US soldiers walk away with ridiculously low sentences. People like Manning on the other side...

But to the case here...a soldier went nuts, not the first time, not the last time.Unfortunate but happened. One in 100000.....that's a low quota.

Well I think those cases get more attention than sentencing a guy for 24 years in prison.

US Army realizes, that it is very difficult to avoid sometimes civilian deaths and collateral damages. These things have happened, do happen and will happen.

Like the street traffic. Whatever safety means and regulations we introduce we can only minimise the occurences of accidents, but never really eliminate them totally.

Now.

If I create an accident UNINTENTIONALLY I am covered by insurance against civil responsibility. Here we may discuss whether the US Army policy to reject giving away the soldier to the local authority for trial is fine or not.
But if I make an accident drink driving automatically my insurance policy for this accident is withdrawn and nullified.

Why then , in the case of obvious act of murdering people, a 100% pure evil act having nothing to do with the purpose of bringing soldiers there, the rule of indemnificating US soldiers from the local authorities is not automatically withdrawn as well?!

I am all for giving this ( or these, if the final investigation would show) soldier(s) to be tried by the Afgan court and bear the punishment according to the verdict.
Silently I keep thumbs for it be death by stoning with not too big pebbles.

Any other jurisdicial shelebele will be seen as a bull zhyt by Afgani and will not decline the arose hatred.

I really do not understand this kind of "solidarity" with murderous maniacs.
