No. More money should be invested in improving people's livelihood, rather than building the useless skycrapers just to add points to the political achievement of local officials.

Should China build more skyscrapers?

I chose Yes.  No matter party and government leaders like or not, mainland China need more skyscrapes. Why?
less land and more people.

It's a great policy that most Chinese city people are living in apartments, not in houses.

At least they should build many skyscrapers on the Western half of China.

Of course No.

We need to build more skyscrapers in metropolis, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, etc.

We'd better not build too many skyscapers in western half of China - more land and less people there.

Of course more money need to be invested in improving people's livelihood. City development is part of people's livelihood. No matter you like or not, Skyscraper is part of modern city development.

Outside of mainland China, property developers have many channels to get lands. In mainland China, Party and government leaders are robbing land from the rest of Chinese. Property developers can get lands only from Party and government leaders. Party and government Leaders have a monopoly of lands. It's the root cause.

In the past few of years, leaders like to rob money from the rest of Chinese. That is to say, party and government leaders are going to be the KMT and government leaders before 1949. If the present Party and government leaders corrupted too much like the KMT leaders before 1949, maybe another revolution would come out.

while ever most cities are built on the most arrable land on the plannet, the land should be used in the most efficient manner.
