I'd rather have a 'non-life' with a rogue artist as my biggest concern than to have
an 'interestin ...

Absolutely!  Anyone would.  That is my point.

Absolutely!  Anyone would.  That is my point.

I'm not so sure 'anyone would'.
I see endless examples of little boys playing war games out on the playground, learning how to become heartless bullies and
then becoming enthralled with war games on the internet, PC, or playstation. They grow up encouraged by right wing
jingoistic slogans and can't wait to join the army, navy, air force, or marines. To them it's business as usual and they can't
wait to see some action so they'll have something to brag about. Never mind about people getting killed.
They brush it off as "collateral damage".
I'm not pointing the finger at any one country here. All countries have their portion of these idiots.
That's one thing I won't miss about this world if there is an afterlife.
Just my luck I'd find myself in another world filled with the above a-holes.

At least I'd like to think we're in the majority and who knows, maybe we'll outnumber them by such a wide margin
in the future they'll have no one to play their war games with in the future.

There is hope. One of the USA's most famous generals who went on to become president, and a Republican no less, is
quoted as saying:
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed."
and
"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist."
and last but not least
"I think that people want peace so much that one of these days government had better get out of their way and let
them have it." {:soso_e114:}

If capitalism promotes innovation and creativity then why aren't scientists and artists the richest people in a capitalist nation?
