If marriage was not only based on love, but also practicality, less people would divorce.  But I respect women though: it takes both genders to advance a people and nation.

Interesting question.

If there never was divorice it would be never known to society. Society can not miss something it was never introduced too.

That said, society itself would be totally different. Would paligimy be lawful throughout the world as a result? Would having a kept woman be as normal as living in France?

Creating enough social behavior changes not effecting the frequency of marriage, perhaps even having the opposite effect.

Pre-nuptial engagement stage should be tried out more.  That's the only way you can get to see someone as is where is.

If works, proceed to next commitment stage.  If no work, shake hands and go separate ways.

And no need for expensive weddings.  Save the money as down payment for a simple home.
