In The UK the family will give charity shop items like clothes Other small value things or will be handed round relatives.
But the house, money and valuables (after tax AT 40% !!! GRRR if the value is over £325K) will be given to sons and daughters.
Bloody 40% it's disgusing

Yes if the Estate is worth over £325K (I don;t know where you are but UK house prices that's nothing.

INHERITENCE TAX THE BASICS
Not everyone pays Inheritance Tax. It's only due if your estate - including any assets held in trust and gifts made within seven years of death - is valued over the current Inheritance Tax threshold (£325,000 in 2011-12). The tax is payable at 40 per cent on the amount over this threshold.

So the first £325K is not taxed after that it is 40%{:soso_e115:}
