My daughters had to watch as we gave them away to total strangers who answered the ad for free rabbits.
I'm sure some ended up as rabbit stew.
When I asked the 'animal control officer' why rabbit ...

Do you think that the particular 'farm animal' law is applicable to just that town ........  ?

Or would it be a state or federal law  ......... ?

Seems pretty 'hare-brained' to me  ..........

It's a crap shoot if your everyday life is crossing one of them in any give town.
There are many laws that are fodder for comedians in the US.
You don't have to look very hard to find some real gems.
But even if you break a law like the 'no rabbits in this town' law and you
aren't totally obsequious when being questioned or ticketed you are open to
being cuffed and having the crap beat out of you.

慞olice brutality is a big problem in the US?

8 November, 2011

The OWS protests continue across the US and as the police continue to crackdown on protesters after violent clashes and arrests over the weekend, some activists believe that police have gone too far in their reliance on excessive force.

Activist Timothy Frawls told RT that the problem has a lot to do with the militarization of police, which was ramped up in the aftermath of 9/11.

揚olice brutality is a big problem in the United States and the Wall Street protests are showing that,?Frawls said. 揟hat is one issue that a lot of people are organizing around.?

揥hen there has been violence it is when there are dozens upon dozens of riot police in full gear," he added. 揑t is almost like the police looking for a fight. And with that kind of an attitude you are going to get one.?

Timothy Frawls says that 憇top and frisk?policy is a perfect example of New York police overusing their authority on a regular basis.

揑 observed a march two weeks ago in Harlem that was against the NYPD抯 policy of what they call 憇top and frisk,?which is they just stop people on the street and frisk them for some suspicion of wrongdoing,?he said. 揃ut 90 per cent of the people who are stopped and frisked ?and there are hundreds of thousands of them every year ?go free, they are not even issued citations.?

However, Frawls admits there are differences in how the police departments around the US treat local protesters.

揇epending on what community you are in there is going to be a different police response because of the different cultures in those police departments.?

Being one of the protesters, Timothy Frawls, would like to see a more open political system in the US. And he says that the protesters have already succeeded to some degree.

揜epublicans are talking about social inequality; Democrats are talking about corporate personhood and the other very important issues to a lot of people down at the protests in the financial district,?he said. 揟he OWS protests are already changing the political dialogue in the country.

Concerning Police Brutality,
can just refer to Chapelle's Show:
"Use Common Sense."

Nevertheless I like the part about Police,
when Americans tell me the "European Heaven - European Hell" Story.
If they knew how reasonable German Cops are in Reality in these times in comparison.
Much more fitting to the heaven part nowadays than said English Policemen.
And it's certainly to some degree an american influence that brought things that way.
What's still valid about the english in that poem is just the cooking part.

Just as the whole concepts of resocialisation of inmates, and avoiding prison sentences originally came from the US in better times, and works well for Europe.

I mean, all moral and political things even put aside,
Sending someone to prison for life costing 18 to 50k a Year,
opportunity costs of lost productian not even included,
over maybe a bycicle, a smoke, and a drink in public.
Or other such examples,
maybe a petty thief career of a few hundreds Bucks.

Seriously?

Just to point it out again,
this stuff works well in Europe, and worked well in the US when the US was still practicing it.

Bastards can't handle their own affairs, bought and sold by big monied interests, so being they are all lawyers, thy do what they do best: push around the little people! To establish courtroom precedence, they beat the feeble and weak in their kangaroo court, appeal to brain dead sports fans in mock elections and pretend they are worthy human beings!
