I am not interested in what a MORON like you think.

I am still waiting to hear the answer from drwatson.  I want to see whether he will stoop low to your level.

I already answered your first question.

As to your second question and lastly the inference that I may stoop low, keep your own antics and bad behaviour to yourself.

Nothing in your posts showed any concern for the lady and your first reaction is to question why I did not post of my concern?

Whatever the circumstances around this woman's death, the entire situation is tragic. I am surprised you need to demand that someone write this - it shouldn't need to be written.

But don't let me disturb anyone here. Get in line to make the next sickeningly sanctimonious comments about how insensitive and terrible the Chinese people have become. .

Try the United States threads on this bbs, where the usual suspects cut and paste the most negative stories they can find about any western country and announce that it is normal in these countries.

Then watch as the Chinese on these boards agree with them.

Next watch as the Chinese get sensitive when any westerner reports tragic news in China ... even when it is isolated incidents and not portrayed as the norm.

Finally, watch as, in anger, they tell people not to make sanctimonious comments...

Women who jumped off bridge in stable condition; netizens react
*

Netizens wanted to know why nobody set up barriers around the woman in order to warn other drivers that there was a woman lying in the middle of the busy highway.

Over two days, over 5,000 commenters on the QQ forums wondered the same thing about the 85-second video clip of a woman wearing red jumping off an overpass: People captured the scene on video and tons of cars passed by yet nobody stopped to help the woman. Is it a sign of the cold detachment of the Chengdunese? Could this be called Chengdu's "Little Yueyue?"

The video, which was uploaded at 11:04 p.m. on November 2 by user "Chengdu Ruoshan," received over one million hits in two days and generated a hot discussion thread. [link: h t tp :// b b s.cd. q q .c o m/t-333079-73. h t m

At 7:53 p.m. the next day, a user called "Tianxie Zuodemi" proclaiming to be the videographer offered an explanation for the drivers' behavior: Driving a car these days is not easy; you never know what sort of blackmailers fate will lead you to.

At the moment the woman jumped, she landed in front of a small car, which suddenly braked in order to avoid running her over. But within seconds, that car put on its blinker and merged into the left lane to carry on its journey. The car with the camera crew was behind this car. The poster explained that they were also stunned, having never encountered such a situation before, and hesitated momentarily over whether or not to get out of their car. "If I didn't move, and since I don't know first aid, the traffic jam it would cause would be in vein and might prevent the ambulance from getting to her in time. (Of course these thoughts all came to me after the fact. At the time all I could think was to call the police, but I didn't want to stir up any trouble, and now I really am quite ashamed that I didn't stop the car and try to help)."

"In the few seconds shown on the video, my conduct cannot be called commendable, but under the pressure of the moment this was my instinct. It's true you kind of lose your mind in the moment ... ."

A reporter tracked down Zhao Li (alias) at a hospital in the west of the city.

According to the patient's doctor, Wu Zhiqiang, Zhao Li broke her back in four places, and although her life is not in danger, if she does not undergo surgery she will be unable to urinate or defecate.

Zhao Li wishes to avoid involving her parents in this matter and so her husband is taking care of her. She also said that after hearing about the flurry of online activity regarding her suicide attempt, she was very moved by the kind-hearted words of the Chengdunese, and that they gave her the will to carry on.

Zhao is from Yunnan. On the day she jumped off the bridge, she was feeling desperate due to a dispute with another party. She arrived at the overpass at 7 in the morning and crossed paths with a couple in the 30s who were on their way to the market to sell vegetables. Seeing her downtrodden appearance, they stopped to ask her for directions to the market. After they left, Zhao Li took a look around to make sure nobody was there. A few young men were passing across and they too called out to her, hoping to get a response. There was none. When Zhao Li saw that these few people had crossed the overpass and gone back down to the street, she made sure to check that none of them looked back at her.

Zhao stepped over the railing of the overpass and saw that the couple on their way to the market had come back and were shouting at her not to jump. On the street below the bridge, there were also some passersby who had spotted her and were pleading with her not to jump. "At that time my head was just a big blank, I thought living was too difficult," Zhao Li said. Then she decided to jump.

Although there were cars in all lanes on Third Ring Road at the time, they all managed to avoid running over Zhao. Zhao said that when she landed only her leg and back felt numb; her mind was very clear. She heard more than 10 people calling 120. Two minutes later, a car stopped, and the driver got out to ask what had happened. The police arrived shortly thereafter and set up police lines, and an ambulance arrived and took Zhao to the hospital.

Emergency-room nurse Yu Jing said that at 8:05 a.m. on November 2, the hospital received a call from the emergency center. Three minutes later, an ambulance was dispatched. It arrived on the scene at 8:18. The police were already there setting up barriers. Zhao Li was alone and would not provide contact information of any of her family members.

To date, Zhao Li has paid just over RMB2,000 in hospital bills, but surgery will cost RMB30,000.
