The Chinese tax authorities handed Ai Weiwei a bill of 15 million RMB in tax and fines, the prominent artist said in his Sina Weibo this morning (November 1), a Chinese equivalent of Twitter.

He did not reveal whether he will challenge it or not.

The Chinese authorities charged Ai with tax evasion shortly after his release from an 80-day detention four months ago.

No way

How could this activist afford so much money? It's more like a show-off, for the artist.

I am not sure about the money side as I haven't bothered to check, and the amount is neither here nor there .............

However, most people are aware that AWW was only a design consultant, and not the designer in the Bird's Nest  ..........

That is a very big and obvious difference  ..........

Touting him as the designer is being extremely economical with the truth .............
