They only care about their own livelihoods and nothing more.|
How many of those who perished in the latest train crash accident have actually care about the other "accidents"? The melamine-tainted milk? The shoddy schools? Countless mine "accidents"? And the numerous power outages of the newly-inaugurated high-speed train? They are most probably indifferent to them, because "they are none of their own business."
Now, even if they are going to be butchered (have actually been butchered by the train crash), they seem incapable of resistance. The same goes for other Chinese. It is true that when the "accidents" strike, indignation would be flying and angry words exchanges. But it stops there.
When the ember of each and every accident dies down, everything goes as normal as possible. Mark my word, this one is no exception: Chinese will ride the bullet-train as happily as they can, as if nothing serious has ever taken place.
No doubt many people would remember this and other accidents, but it's better they forget about them completely, since even if they can recite every minute detail of these accidents, they would reason "what happened has happened" and "what was done has already been done" and "what more can I do?"...
Yeah, what more can they do? There is no denying they are willing to donate their blood and money, but it stops right there: "No more sacrifices, please! We have done our part!"
Keep up your indifference, Chinese. Be proud of it.
