What can you buy if you've got 300,000 yuan or 46,172 dollars? A brand new car? Lots of gadgets? Travelling around the world? An apartment somewhere in the US?

Well, here in Beijing, it seems you can only buy 1 ㎡ of an apartment.

Where is the apartment? No.3 building in Diaoyutai Seventh Yard beside the Second Ring Road in west Beijing.

A prime location? Definitely. Worth the price? Absolutely not. Media hype? Most probably.  Outrageous? You bet.

If you read the calculation rules about Chinese building, you'll know it's less than 1M2 actually.
Maybe 70%~90%.

300,000 actually = totally own the apartment building materials+ 40~70 years of land rental
Attention, In China, all land are owned by government. You can only rent land, 40, or 50, or 70 years, from government.

I guess it wouldn't be short of bidders. Some people are obscenely rich now in China. Don't ask them how they got there though.
Dream on!
