Students from the Chinese mainland will be able to apply for a summer internship in the White House for the first time, according to a report in the Chongqing Morning Post.|
At a news conference Saturday in Chongqing, the program's organizers announced that 10 students from the city would be selected to intern at the White House from July to August, said the report.
However, confusion raised because the details of the recruitment are unclear, some of which contradict to information posted on the website of the White House.
If selected, the candidate will have to pay as much as 200,000 yuan ($30,456) for the trip, a worker from Sunac China, one of the program sponsors, said to the Global Times Monday.
The worker was unaware of other details related to the program.
The US Harvest Center (UHC) foundation and Sunac China, a local real estate development company, sponsored the program, the report said.
