Over two centuries of world domination by the West, this unwavering  ‘monachy’ now is trumbling, Once and still branded ‘poor’ and ‘igorant’ by the West as a third world country China, can China take up the rein?  Can China or should China do it on its own?

Yeah China why not ?   Then somewhere down the line you're gonna be as hated as we are taking over the world and the mantle of ' superpower ' and all that it implies.

You could currently trade Iceland for a packet of fishfingers.

- A leader does not have to indulge in hegemonic practices.

As naive as that ?    As China expands her interests abroad all the filthy business of politics will come into play somewhere, it doesn't take a genius or a clairvoyant to work that out.

Its easy to slag off powerful nations when you're poor and have nothing but when you become wealthy yourself you want to protect it any way you can.  That applies right down to the individual.

We shall see.

DOES IT REALLY MATTER?
At the end of the day, it just means the citizens of the state can afford to purchase more in foreign states! That's all!

heck!
80% of the Americans despise the CIA, but sees a need to "breed" a "in house demon" to fight "external demons"!
The American bureaucrats and politicians create a organization called the FBI and it watches over the CIA, the underclass from "expanding their bag of dirty tricks" against their own citizens!

cheerios!
