which is pretty much the point, the real threat is in no way matching up to the fuzz made about it, with the rethorics, those xray checks at metro stations and all that stuff.

i just didn't know that vendors use canned fuel gas to cook noodles or something, which may cause the blast. i simply wondered what might be used by the vendor that could cause a blast.

Well, they have plenty of less combustable fuel around them, if you suggest they should cook with something else, or did you think they heated their food by rubbing their hands?

And of course, with gas, there's always a risk of blasts,
even with the safest equipment (which is not that likely to be taken here) there's still a minimal risk remaining.

It's a pretty clean burning fuel though, as long as it doesn't light less clean fuels in an explosion.

Beijing captures blast suspect: police

xinhua

Beijing police have seized a man who was suspected of setting off an explosion in downtown Beijing's diplomatic area last week.

Lei Sen, 21, confessed he had caused the blast "for personal reasons", Beijing Public Security Bureau said in a press release Wednesday night.

It said Lei, from Nanchong City in the southwestern Sichuan Province, was captured on the same day.

But the document did not say how or where he was caught.

The blast occurred on October 21 near the busy Dongzhimen subway station, close to many embassies.

A 30-year-old American man who was studying in China was slightly injured in the leg.

You brought forward the actual facts . . . cool . . . and well done.

Many of the other writers here now have egg on their faces and are eating crow. They all made silly assumptions about the "blast" and this proves the "point": Assumptions are usually wrong.
