The AWAC jet is the big problem!|
Smaller carrier, those 20,000 tonnes ship, don't have the size to carry the AWAC jet!
The AWAC jet, flying at 40,000 feet is almost crucial in today's combat missions!
It can see further than surface ships, and it could see further than jet fighters!
The 40,000 tonnes ship is a compromise, but the 60,000 tonne ship is very useful - can carry on board BIG AIRCRAFT, and bigger runway!
The J-XX helps to reduce such problem, while a VSTOL Awac plane could just do as well, i reckon! We also need to have the 12,000 tonnes cruiser ships, with ASAT capabilities. Even small states, can launch mini satellites and gain valuable information!
