Potato crops are more suited in arid or semi arid lands in China.

Melting glaciers from the Kunlun mountains provide plentiful source of water that can be channeled to nearby deserts for reforestations & tranformation into productive farmlands.

Inland Province people are a GREAT PEOPLE!
Look at how they transform the LOESS PLAINS into a land of fruits, and honey!

The "grain basket" of China, the "beef basket" in the grassland!
Will be China's SOFT power! Massive quantities of Surplus Food!
And as Southwest, Inland Province urbanized, mechanization will be needed to work those fields!
