Don't we have a US$5 or more trillion infrastructure budget till year 2018!

That will be very helpful in reinvestment, to upgrade - maintain the infrastructure!
Many developed, advanced states has big reinvestment budget to keep ahead without burden of obsolete technology, structures!

(Please forget what Mr. Manoj said about usefullness of over 30 year old thermal plants - that's the main reason why brownouts happens in India, Phillipines that we hear so often! - insufficient reinvestments! - that's why pre reform China and India looks so 1950's)

cheerios!

This reservoir was, afaik, an old timer from the 50s or 60s and no more in use. It was bone dry for most time of the year. There are better and modern reservoirs in this area. As it turned out even an oldie can become a dangerous threat.

Anhui Province to start 1st wind power project in Aug

Anhui Province intends to kick off construction on its first wind power project in Chuzhou of the province in early August, which will give a great push to the local economic growth of environment-friendly energy.

The project, which will be located in the northern area of Laian County, is designed to have a total installed capacity of 247.5 megawatts and will be completed in five stages.

In each of the five stages, 33 1,500-kilowatt units will be installed to annually generate a total of one gigawatt hours of electricity, which will be equivalent to 35,000 tons of coal consumption.

The project is still waiting for approval from the Environment Protection Department of Anhui Province.
