This is true.

Generals should remain as soldiers-professionals, unless the country is in a crisis situation, like Myanmar or Pakistan.

I prefer to have a General in charge of Pakistan today.

General Pervez Musharraf, where are you?  You are coming back?  Pakistan needs you.

De Gaulle was a General too. Churchill wasn't a General but was a soldier and he was a damned fine leader just when it mattered most. Deng Xiaoping was a General too. The generalisation (no pun intended) of generals/military people being unfit political leaders is blasted out of the water with the examples I've named in 2 posts within this thread.
