America brought down Japan by forcing them to sign the Plaza Accord.  The fact that they stole japanese land and put their military base on it doesn't help either.

The US "stole" Japanese land? Get it right kiddo! The US conquered Japanese land. Hardly stealing now is it when it was during a global conflict. Your hatred blinds you to the truth unfortunately weta.

Now to the subject; why on earth should the US want to bring China down seeing how both nations very much are intertwined economically now. Far better to find similarities than differences. Similarities like vast lands that are constantly barraged by mother nature etc.

It's not all so harmonious, unfortunately. There are forces in the US, and especially in the Pentagon, that want indeed bring China down, or prevent from coming up. It is as Mockiavelli stated: No super power will politely step aside.

I can understand the Chinese' concerns, to a certain degree. The US are not nice to them, and the conflict will probably become sharper (despite the close ties between both).

However, the OP states nothing but general platitudes. It would not have been necessary to start a thread with such poor background knowledge.

I know the obvious pertinent facts as you pointed out but, really, those forces mentioned haven't a sh!ts show in hell of being in the majority unless China really crosses the line, whatever that may be.

Yup! Totally agree, not so easy!

No nation is entirely NUMERO UNO in our world today!
Every nation has weakness, strengths!

Now, I am thinking, how big can China grow? What are the factors that would come into being?
