A team of US researchers have found over $1 trillion dollars worth of rich minerals such as gold, iron, copper, and lithium in Afghanistan.  Will the US let the Afghani's have what is rightfully theirs?  Or will the US greedily try and steal those resources?

Why were researcher's even trying to find minerals in Afghanistan?  I thought the main concern was over "Bin Laden"?

Americans are going to claim that the minerals of gold, copper, etc. can be applied to WMDs by Binny, so they will confiscate all of them.

Without a doubt.  I know the US will steal those resources like they ALWAYS do.  Every war America enters is for personal gain.

Its Lithium, not a precious one. But certainly massive deposits of Lithium. The only country that is gonna benefit significantly is China from this as they had already started mining operations in Afghanistan.

Because Afghanistan must have a domestic product to support the development of their nation...... opium is unacceptable. All they did was confirm the existence and amount of the deposits mapped by the Russians during their occupation.

Who knows, perhaps the confirmation was a byproduct of the new magnetic/gravity equipment they were using to map underground cave networks?

China is not the one who started a war in Afghanistan.  The US would LOVE to have these minerals for themselves and to .  Their economy is in the drain and this new "discovery" could pull them out.  This has nothing to do with China and everything to do with america's greed.  They just RECENTLY discovered this.  But I can bet on what will happen in the future:

"the US confiscates Afghanistan's precious metals because they contain WMD's"

Wetac0s, you never know how China gained from Iraq and Afghanistan because of US rule there. It had almost invested in all natural wealth. The winner has been China in this not the US.
