the text has always sucked. the students are just wanting more out of life, and are rebelling more against their parents and teachers all the time. the math sucks
it not only sucks, but its useless
you arent really interested in solutions, only in making random threads which attack america out of any subject you happen to stumble upon
however, to hijack your dumbass thread and make something useful out of it, something beyond your capability, let me go ahead and offer real solutions to a real problem, both of which are beyond your capacity to be genuinely concerned with
Math doesnt need to be written my scientists or by educators, but by "system administrators" and "programmers"
the 'programmer' or 'system administrator' needs to look at the needs of the system, and divide schools into core subject areas,
Grades K-3 will learn very basic core subjects, such as:
construction, engineering, and problem-solving via building blocks and puzzles,
creativity via drawing, painting, sculpting, crafts, cookery, etc
human empathy, caring , welfare, and service, via biology and anatomy and helping, health, welfare, and parenting issues
science and robotics via assembly and understanding basic components and parts
chemistry and physics using basic experience.
each student is carefully observed and given scores according to both his or her INTEREST AND ABILITY
then, graded 5-6 will be divided into specialized schools throughout the district, such as:
construction and engineering and problem-solving school
Creative arts and ideas technology school
Electronic Science and Robotics schools
Chemistry, Physics, and other schools
then grades 7-9 will be further divided into sub categories and even smaller, more specialized schools.
and so will grades 10-12 be even more specialized
a child who tested into humanity in K-3 will have up to 50 different schools to choose from in his or her career, but none of them will be any other discipline other than those related to humanity, such as health care, nutrition, sports, fitness, Chinese medicine, Medical, Dental, Psychology, Nursing, Service & Tourism Industry, Massage therapy, mid-wife, Cruise Ship captain, Airplane Pilot, etc..
each school will send him to the next school based on his OBSERVED INTEREST AND ABILITY, rather than on his verbal opinion
and by grade 12, each student will be qualified for a very select few universities tailoring to students from that discipline.
so the only math anyone will learn, or the only anything anyone will learn, is whatever they are interested in, and wish to train in and be qualified to apply and use in an industry, in real-world working applications
