Only Middle Class people have time to help their community with some RATIONAL IDEAs.
but so many vested interest people, dogs, foreign spook cats makes it difficult at times!!!!!!

I think one thing that is forgotten here is that in many de mocratic countries, espeicially the US, people take their politiking very seriously. MAking an offhand comment about this democrat or that repulikan might cause an argument and most westerners do not like to argue in public, despite what you might see on seinfeld.
As a result discussions about politics are restricted to places of learning or clubs where people can voice their opinions without being called to task for them.
Opposingly, since there is little in the way of party competition in China most of the talk will revolve around whetehr a decision is good or not and cannot become personal because there is little to compare it too. This is certainly not always a bad thing and in fact it is my personal opinion that the  lack of competition and the lack of a need to defend itself from political opposition enables the govt in China to simply get on with the real work instead of trying to get itself voted back in at the next election.
