I have no idea what a pom is, but getting made fun of for what you eat is a pretty weak example. haha Africans are afraid to sit next to you?? More like you are afraid to sit next to africans. Since I grew up in America, yes, I have faced way more racism than you have or ever will face. Don't even deny that westerners get special treatment in Asia. I constantly hear westerners bragging about how easy it is for him to get asian women and how they "go crazy for my blue eyes and white skin!". Do you deny that doesn't happen? Have you been living under a rock?|
A pom is an Englishman, just so you know.
What is a baser attack than the very food you eat? I do not make fun of people for eating rice, or yams, or anything else along cultural or religious paths. I teach the Africans English, almost everyday, they have a rich culture themselves and I am not afraid of them, or any group of people. I am afraid of the hateful and extreme.
As far as getting special treatment for the colour of my skin I would only say that people who meet me in person would usually either think me very quiet and polite or unusually calm, I get special treatment on the basis of my openness, although I seem slimy to you I am extremely open minded about difference and diversity.
I am under no illusions that the Aboriginal people are the true caretakers of the land I live in, nevertheless, this country is my home and I hope that all the people here learn to live together in harmony.
I also do not deny that th innuit and Native Americans are the native people of their land. I would think that theirs is a sad story and one that continues to this day.
The point I would make is that humans did not simply sprout out of the ground in any case. We migrated from one place to another. The only borders we had were based on geograpical inaccessability and the tyranny of distance. The modern human nations we have are based on the reach of tyrants dating back thousands of years. With technology the reach has lengthened but the ideology of a segregated humanity remains. Why do we perpetuate this seperation based on outdated understanding? Is my genome any different to yours? I am sure that it is the same. Your idea of "Asia" seems to be everything touched by the pacific ocean. Another grand fence planned by a human with no authority over nature at all.
Call it what you want, we share the earth, it will live or die with us.
