A lot of very important stuff has been mentioned on this in a previous thread.

We can now turn our attention to the serious aspects.

So just what was the correlation between Hawaii and Tibet?

We need to start at the beginning.

Tibet's relationship with China has a long record, going back hundreds of years.

This becomes fudged after the fall of the Qing Dynasty only to be renewed in one form or another by the Kuomingtang and then the PRC.  The status of the province of Tibet was recognized and claimed by the Kuomingtang right through from 1924 – 1949 as a Chinese domain. This can be seen from old archive documents from the US State Department and the US Department of Defense, their sponsors. And also Chinese archives.  During this period there were legal documents to notarize this position.
After 1950, there was agreement between China and Tibet about their relationship and a legal document was signed.

Remember, anything taken by force and in US speak and anything with LEGAL written on it means it is stone and cannot be changed.

This can be proved by the fact that Hawaii was pulled out from under the indigenous people's noses by legal shenanigans with white Americans claiming to govern Hawaii (still debatable at some level) and, the obviously one sided legal document to lease Guantanamo Bay.  Given the character that the US had at that time with its imperial hegemony, and which can clearly be seen through instances such as the theft of the Panama region from Columbia, these people were unspeakable colonialists in search of power and land.

Notwithstanding that the very nation of the United States was stolen from indigenous folk through legal means (allegedly), and is the very land on which is the bastion from which they plied their game of judicial theft land.  In addition the farcical situation (USS Maine) with which they entered into a war with Spain a much weaker force shows they were nothing but bullies and hungry for territory. And of course Mexico.

After a hundred and fifty years of war and theft and having refused assistance to the DL in 1959, they now have the unparalleled temerity to fete the Dalai Lama in front of the Whitehouse as some major politician.

Why is that?

You're being too presumptive on people's motives.

Background

In 1927 the 3-year coalition between the Kuomintang (KMT) and the Communist Party based on Sun Yat-sen’s ideology was shattered by the ruthless and sudden purge of the Communists by the KMT. Thousands of Communists were summarily executed and the rest had to flee.  The remaining Communists fled and set-up soviets, and the KMT led five massive major campaigns to eliminate them.

From the early 30’s the US supported the KMT in their campaign against the Communists with money and arms, whilst the KMT focused on the elimination of the Communists and appeasement of the Japanese incursions into Northern China.  The fifth campaign was a disaster for the Communists 1n 1934 and lead to the ‘Long March’ where the Communists finally ended up in Yan’an.   In 1936 despite the constant war waged against them the Communists managed to convince the military dictatorship of Chiang Kai Shek to fight a united front against the Japanese.  This only actually happened after Chiang had been held in house confinement by some KMT officers which forced him to make a united front.  From 1936 – 1945, despite the united front the KMT still tried to trap and eliminate elements of the Red Army.  In 1945 the Japanese surrendered and the united front fell apart.

Heavily funded by the US (2.8 billion US dollars) the KMT launched a massive offensive against the Communists with the latest equipment and airplanes provided by the US.  This also included naval ships to ferry troops.  The Communists were outnumbered 3-1 and had only the poorest and most basic equipment. The outcome as we know was that this was a complete failure due to incompetence and corruption within the KMT and the indomitable spirit of the Red Army, over the following 4 years to 1949 the KMT lost ground and fled to Taiwan. The US ringed Taiwan with naval ships and plans were made to re-invade the mainland.

Obvious routes of re-invasion were by sea and through Indo-China including Tibet.  In addition there were many KMT troops still hiding in the mainland that could be called upon. In 1950, the Red Army entered Tibet and reclaimed the area.  Fighting KMT units and bandits in the mainland would continue until the mid-50’s.
