"Six countries account for 50% of worldwide deaths in children younger than 5 years, and 42 countries for 90%. The causes of death differ substantially from one country to another, highlighting the need to expand understanding of child health epidemiology at a country level rather than in geopolitical regions."

Is it genocide, of the western nations, that African warlords starve, rape and murder their own people. If the west went in there and stopped it, we'd be branded imperialists. This kind of thing, while sad (the kids dying) isn't wests fault in the slightest when you recognise the fragility of our economies right now, high unemployment levels and the need to feed our own. Really, you guys condemn us for doing something, and condme us for doing nothing. How can we possibly win in cases like this? If you can't see this petera and gang, you're living in lalaland more than is apparent to us here.

According to FAO, the number of hungry people is rising at a rate of 5 million per year. We've lost half of the earlier gains won against hunger. Worse yet, if international communities continue with the attitude of "business as usual," the number of hungry people worldwide will not be halved until at least 2050.

Hunger is the most extreme form of poverty. It manifests itself in many ways other than starvation and famine. Most poor people who battle hunger also have to deal with chronic undernourishment and vitamin or mineral deficiencies, which result in stunted growth, weakness and heightened susceptibility to illness.

Well, democracy isn't free, plenty of money needs to be spent before it will work. The Norse pirate states can afford to democratize without serious infighting because they are filthy rich as compared to the rest of the world. Why are they filthy rich? Because of the wealth that they have accumulated from plundering the whole world for more than 4 centuries. Even now, these pirates still own the whole of North American continent, the South American continent and Australian continents. On top of that, they still own several colonies in Asia, Africa and the Arctic.
