US territories, the Marianas and Guam are pretty close to East Asia if not in it.
The US also has the largest populations of East Asians outside of their home countries.
The US is still the largest economy in the world and the largest market for most East Asian export goods.

Still if you use the strictest sense, Japan, China, HK, Macou, Ta!wan, and the two Koreas you might not include them.

I think China, Japan and Korea then should be admitted to NAFTA.

I doubt China would be willing to lower its tarrifs on US goods to the point to qualify for NAFTA.
which leads to your problem, you are comparing apples to oranges.  NAFTA is a binding trade agreement while the "east asian community" is an international origanization set up to deal with a whole range of issues.  Perhaps you would want these nations to be admitted into the Organization of American States.

If you mean the Organization of American states, well Japan, China, and South Korea are already Observers despite not being in the Americas.

I think US and china should be members

Due to the global symbiotic relationship I feel US should be more inclusive and so should china if china falls America would fall and if US falls then China would fall also(not saying this is good or bad it is what it is) or at least go back in time a bit and reverse  growth that has occured .I feel that China loves her people and if a better way at dealing with human rights issues and individual freedoms are comeing to pass.USA loves her people too and most of her people come from all around the world,USA needs to be more of a memebr of global communities and less the bully or big brother dictateing it's desires.I am so glad we elected Obama and seem to be on the right track towards regaining this relationship. After the  sadistic bully we had for last 8 yrs USA has no right to pass judgement only offer advice.:):):) Have a great day
