Modern females can really enjoy a veritable foot-free life (too many kinds of fashionable shoes are flowing in the hustle and bustle of high streets).However, less than 100s years ago, nearly all most women across China still had to wrap their feet by long pieces of cotton cloths---such a process made a “master piece”: bound foot (in Chinese spells as guojiao or san cun jin lian by some literates).

I’ve never seen the true APPEARANCE of a guojiao, even one of my neighbours in my home village, who is more than 80s, has such a pair of feet.:)

I don't think it's beautful or masterpiece...

Women suffered a lot from foot-binding.... They are subjected to pain and couldn't walk fast or freely...

Even in hot Summer,this old grandma remains wearing her home-made cloth shoes.

I cannot imagine how  could she bear such a disfigured torture~~All toes except the toe thumb were wrapped and pressed into the foot bottom! Fingers can be fisted easily.Yet how about toes?
