Samsung Group began construction of a research institute over the weekend in Tianjin City, one of the four municipalities in China, in order to test its products and components against international safety certification standards for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI), sources reported.

The research institute will be located in the Microelectronics Industrial Park in Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA) and will cover a land area of 6,000 square meters. It is estimated that the construction of the research institute will be competed at the end of 2009.

Samsung will invest US$10.5 million in the research institute, which will help it adapt its products to the different technical standards in different countries. It will also help Samsung's Chinese subsidiaries take their technology to the global market and further expand their export business.

So far, Samsung has spent nearly US$1.6 billion in setting up eleven manufacturing companies in TEDA

I believe SAMSUNG creation of 11 manufacturing SCREWDRIVER factories in Tianjin is indicative of availability of LOW COST WORKERs.

We have a similar facilities in Negri Sembilan, almost 10,000 workers!
It's just have a Corning-Samsung Screen facilies, with the most value added.
The rest of the workers are just for SCREWING OPERATION, putting, assembling the devices together.

This indicates that Tianjin has AMPLE supply of Rmb10,000 a year assemblyworkers.
A positive aspect of such, is that probably around 10% of the employees will be supervisors, managers, officer with higher pay.
The technological aspect of the factory is just a FEEL GOOD propaganda by our Korean friends to make it PUBLIC RELATION friendly.

it's a step by step improvement in China, i guess.
Guangdong was the first of the SCREWING or assembly industry enviroment,
It moved on to Zhejiang in a big way,
and Tianjin, Dalian is now on the stage too!

Fortunately Guangdong now is changing it's product mix, and Beijing HUGE CONGLOMERATE should be able to develop HIGH TECH industries in around Beijing, Tianjin too at a later stage. The Korean moves is FRIENDLY, as SCREWING FACTORIES is a good place to hire village workers, and staying in a suburban enviroment. The children of this workers will be working in the new HIGHER VALUE ADDED factories to be formed by the BOHAI SUPERCENTRE later on.

and it's good that PEARL RIVER DELTA will be a big money minting SUPER CENTRE to absorb the production of such factories.

cheerios!

Now, our Yangtze delta friends.

We await good news from you too!

I have long realized, as has the BRITISH CLUB that USA MINTING hegemony created by it's huge armed forces wouldn't work with a GIANT STATE such as China, especially, (China is already copying East Asia' success long long ago, waiting for the right timing) would not be intimidated by US Armed Forces to partake in their financial schemes.

We in Malaya must protect overselves between now to 2018.
