Here are some articles from the BBC and other mainstream UK news agencies about the aborigines ...

Thank you for this.

But as you see emucc refuse to face the truth that white convicts oppressed the aborigines.

I'll use your information later.

Whether ''white convicts oppressed the aborigines'' has nothing to do with the Tibet issue.

What's good for Tibetan people is more important than what's good for the government. I am sure our ''public servants'' only want to do what's good for its people.

REAL Panchen Lama?

I like to comment on this statement:

"However there was clearly bias mentioned, and that bias was in the original Xinhua article which made no mention of the real Pan-chen Lama."

REAL Panchen Lama? Who is real and is fake?  How do you decide?

The very fact that Westerners think that the REAL Panchen Lama is the one selected by the Dalai Lama reflects the pervasiveness of the bias of Western media.

The Dalai Lama has not even seen him. How could he have known?  By divinition? Then why can't he accept the divinition performed through the traditional lottery method by the golden urn?

Why should anybody believe the Dalai Lama's Panchen Lama is real, if not for the fact that the Western press have said it repeatedly?

The predecessor Panchen Lama the Tenth was chosen by the Nationalist government in 1949.  There were many contestants.  One contestant was in Lhasa chosen by the Tibetan local governmnet.  So, Lhasa and the Dalai Lama did not want to recognise the Nationalist's Panchen Lama.  But the PLA was on the move.  And the Dalai Lama performed divination and accepted him, finally.

The Dalai Lama will have to accept the current Panchen Lama, if he wants to return to China/Tibet.

Compare the Western press reporting for the past 50 years and that in the year 1940:
(I wrote the above this in a wikipedia article (which has been mutilated))

When the current (14th) Dalai Lama was installed in Lhasa, it was with an armed escort of Chinese troops and an attending Chinese minister. Alastair Lamb comments on contemporary news reports of the installation ceremony,      the impression conveyed to the world at large, duly reported in the Calcutta Statesman and The Times of London, for example, was that the Chinese were somehow essential to the recognition of the legitimate Dalai Lama. The Calcutta Statesman...declared...that Mr. Wu had conducted the Dalai Lama to his throne, and read out a proclamation, and that the Dalai Lama had made obeisance towards Peking.[21][22][23][12][18]

Now...you see the bias?
