Peter Parks, a reporter from AFP, fabricated the story with the pictures of the exhibition on the 50th anniversary of Tibet’s diplomatic reform. In disregard of the Chinese-English introduction, he described the British and American made weapons used by the rebels as weapons by the Chinese army to quell the riot.
What message or implication will he convey to the public? The western media have always publicized the idea that the Chinese army invaded and conquered Tibet in 1952 and cracked down the Dalai Lama-led uprising against China’s rule in 1959. They have never mentioned that CIA was involved in the riot by providing secret aids, training the rebels and planning the escape of Dalai Lama. It is evident that the western media are biased in the Tibet issue in an attempt to hide the truth from the foreign public.
Peter Parks' English version:
A visitor(L) looks at guns used by Chinese soldiers in an exibition titled '50th Anniversary of Deplomatic Reform in Tibet' in Beijing on March 1,2009. The exibition opened to mark the 60th anniversary of the Chinese invasion of Tibet to show supposed Chinese democratic reforms but a recent US State Department report says China's human rights record worsened in areas in 2008 despite in the Beijing Olympics with authorities increasing repression in Tibet and Xinjiang.
I think we Chinese ought to move on beyond the shenanigan of these discredited western media . They are in their death throes as the internet takes over from the print and old fashion media . So AFP and the likes need more and juicier " scoops " to sell their papers and " wires ". This denial that the CIA was front and center in the insurgency in Tibet while the DL was there is case in point . They are still insisting that the earth is flat !
We must bypass them because they need reactions from the Chinese as their oxygen . Ignore them and stand on their oxygen tube . They will go blue and then purple and we can have a good laugh . It would be good riddance to bad rubbish .
