"This gorilla is the 60-year America's military presence in Korea."

Dont be modest.  Why stop here.  Why not also the right of the South Korea to exist?  I am sure Kim Jong il will see reason once hes allowed to unify the south.

While you re at it, the North Koreans are pretty mad at those Japanese too.  Personally, the Japanese are getting to be too weird, kinky, acting out their pornographical fantasy from their manga cartoon.  What say ship them off to North Korea wholesale to be spy trainers?

Only problem is even your own foreign ministry(I assume you re Chinese) will disagree with you.  The six party exercise is not looking to end US military presence on the peninsular.  Kim the Dear Leader is looking for a security guarantee and a formal peace agreement.  Nowhere is it official that the US has to pull troops.  If you don't agree with me, check with Yang Jiechi or Wu Dawei.

Speaking of 800-pound gorilla, it exists.  Its the whole premise itself that tough love from its neighbors along with the US will modify Kim's behavior.  Its the 6 party platform which is being promoted by your government to increase its public profile and showcase its clout.  It just doesn't work.

China knows what it takes to change North Korea from its path.  Its China!  But that will be too easy for the US.  China needs North Korea to keep the US off balance in East Asia.

Perhaps if the US decides to just f uck it and walk out on the talk, some interesting things might just happen.  Outside of its obligations to its allies in the region and that of maintaining stability, strictly speaking, the US doesn't need to put itself in the adversarial role vis a vis North Korea.

Its a regional crisis, I say let the region deal with it.  Japan should go nuclear and this will increase China's angst and may actually prompt some genuine effort on its part.

What will China do then?  And how will any action affect its interests?

It can promote a regime change.  But theres no guarantee it will remove any nuclear weapon plus such course of action may lead to a unified and very nationalistic Korea, which will upset China's own ambition in the far east.

There are several trains a day that depart from BeijingZhan each day for Yanji up near the north Korean border.  From there you can get up to Changbaishan or Baedusan depending on your perswasion walk right in to north Korea.  But it might be a little cold still.
I have not been to the North Korean Embassy in Beijing but I have been in Cambodia.

There is a brit who orginizes tours of north korea.  his web address is ww w.koryogroup.c om or info@ koryogroup. com 861064167544 and he says he can take American passport holders which most cant.

There are also a number of restaurants / KTV bars in Beijing run by the North Korean government if you want to practice your Korean on North Korean speakers that is probably a good bet in Beijing.  There is one on Chaoyangmenwaidajie.

it's not existing.  the americans set up a proxy government, with the standard 50,000 troop strength, to keep the mass still in the occupied mode since the japs occupation in 1910.

China needs North Korea to keep the US off balance in East Asia./quote]

i just read an article in our local Chinese newspaper reporting a new rounds of talk are planned between the United Nations' troop in South Korea and the North Korea Army to improve stability in the region.   Well, if the American Troop if referred to as United Nations force, then a preliminary talk should be conducted first on letting China and Russia share the load of keeping peace in Korea.  This way, then, the talk with North Korea could be about a joint military rehearsal.

also for ur information, i m a chinese with a america citizenship for nondiscrimination.  i m working on n.korea for the benefit of mostly america, but also china.  but america diplomacy shames me.
