The Ming never even claimed TWN. Only the Qing did and then only after seizing it from the Dutch. The Ming didn't have a claim on TBT either, they specifically repudiated it as part of... washing o ...

Open,

The people of California want no part of Mexico and sec.eded from it and Santa Anna's cruel policies in 1846; his policies which caused numerous crises for Mexico and led to several sec.ession movements in both the northern and southern areas of the country with even many of the non-sece.ding provinces simply refusing to deal with the central government.

North,

The "Yuan dynasty" isn't China, it's Mongolia. Stop confusing your neighbors with yourselves.

Yuan,

First, circling out TBT makes sense: it's in the news and people want to know where it is. When California is in the news, it gets circled out in the international press, too, but we don't  hear cries from New Yorkers about "dividing America".

Whether TWN counts as "part of China" depends on what the publication considers "China", not what the PRC talking points are. I don't expect you to ever understand why; let's put it this way: as a member of a culture that puts face very high on the list of priorities, you are not likely to ever understand how non-face cultures handle any of this domestically or internationally. You simply shouldn't comment on their representational decisions; in my experience, it is impossible for face-saving persons to understand non-face-saving persons even though nons can easily understand face-savers.

The resource map should exclude TWN: there's not anything of interest to it there, it would be as frivolous as including Hawaii on a map of US oil fields.

China's map of its own territory is truly absurd. I'm sure there's some ancient legend about the concubine of a mythical emperor to justify that huge patch of sea and I'm sure no one but China thinks it has any valid claim to any of it.

First,
It's ethnic Mongols that hold power at that time, but the country is still China.

Second,
Even if it's Mongols, the DL already pledge loyalty to Qing court until the 14th DL.

So what's your problem?
